Berkeley Lake

Located 30 minutes outside of Atlanta - Gwinnett County, GA

Berkeley Lake is an 88-acre lake located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. This community offers lake life living outside of a major city with it being conveniently located less than 30 miles outside of Atlanta. Constructed in 1948, Berkeley Lake is home to one of the largest earthen dams in Georgia. Originally used as a summer retreat and fishing spot, it has since grown into an affluent lake community.

Swimming with Activities

Enjoy the private lake life of Berkeley Lake! Access to the lake and its amenities are only accessible to members of the Berkeley Lake Homeowners Association. If you're looking to enjoy a relaxing day on the lake Berkeley is where you need to be! The entire lake has a no-wake policy and permits boats to travel no more than five miles per hour. BLHA membership grants residents access to the lake's boat launch. 

Berkeley Lake is an angler's oasis with the lake including an array of smallmouth bass, bream/bluegill, blue catfish, crappie, largemouth bass, and perch.

Residents and visitors can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, walking, or nature watching in and around Berkeley Lake. With a 60-acre park, local wildlife is often spotted by residents.

A yearly BLHA membership gives residents access to a variety of fun amenities. There is a community garden, bocce ball area, fire pit, lighted pavilion, and an area for beach volleyball matches. There is even a beach for kids to play and a large grassy area for occasional community campouts and movies.

The local community chapel hosts a yearly Fourth of July celebration, where community members come together to cook food, enjoy the fireworks, watch the parade, and play games.

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is located 33 miles away from Berkeley Lake and Gwinnett County Airport being only 17 miles away in the city of Lawrenceville. This airport has a single 6,000- foot-long by 100-foot-wide grooved asphalt runway. There are more than 50 aviation-related tenants, almost 200 hangars, and about 300 aircraft based at the airport.
